Looking for inexpensive wedding favors? One thing that I’ve realized as a wedding planner is the fact that weddings involve a lot of little things that may cost a lot. One little thing on top of another and it can blow your wedding budget out of proportion. Want help? read on for some cheap wedding favor ideas and essential advice…

Wedding favors or giveaways, for instance, can be costly – because you have to give them to each of your wedding guests. Of course, the more guests you expect, the more wedding favors you have to prepare and you surely don’t want to settle with something not worthwhile nor presentable because it is something that expresses your gratitude to your guest. When the celebration and the merrymaking is over, wedding favors are those little things that guests take home with them and for sure, you don’t want to give them something that is not worth keeping.

However, you don’t have to spend a huge sum of money for wedding favors. There are inexpensive wedding favors that you can choose from. I personally admire couples who use their creativity to cut costs on their wedding.

DIY Wedding Favors for the Crafty and Creative Type

One DIY wedding favor that I also like is the idea of wooden planks etched with love quotes or a love poem. Personally, I have made favors myself using miniature cups and writing love quotes in them. I also use my fabric paints to make unique favors – These make great inexpensive, budget wedding favors.

Are you crafty and creative and looking for creative wedding favor ideas? I strongly suggest that you make your own favors and save a lot of money. One thing I find practical is to make decorative boxes, if you are thinking of giving away cakes and candies or chocolates. Find something that is readily available at your place. Woodwork, handmade papers, small pouches, and bags that you can sew yourself are among those that can make great DIY wedding favors. Beads make great favors as well and certainly one of the better DIY wedding favor ideas.

I advise creative brides thinking about inexpensive wedding favor ideas to plan early for their wedding and make their own favors. The key to an inexpensive wedding is to opt for something you can do yourself so you can save the labor cost. Just make sure you have enough time to plan it. For one of the weddings I organized, the couple chose a personalized CD as their wedding favor. Blank CDs can be purchased by bulk at a very affordable price and make great cheap favor ideas. They made and designed their own CD cover, put their wedding songs on it, and hurrah! They already have a wedding favor that cost them so little.Wanna know more about customizing your wedding gifts? check out our ideas on custom reception favors for some great ways to impress your guests.

Matchboxes, candy jars, empty bottles – I have seen these little things transform into great wedding giveaways, so why not give them a try?

How about Inexpensive Edible Wedding Favors?

Chocolates, candies, cookies and nuts are just a few popular edible favors I often see at weddings. Although they are mostly inexpensive, you can turn them into impressive and wonderful wedding giveaways. I personally liked the idea of a friend giving away fruit jams and jelly as their wedding favor. She placed them into small bottles that she decorated with ribbons. Tea can make great favors as well.

That reminds me, I was also impressed by a couple who gave away seedlings as favors. The bride actually has a garden where she grows ornamental plants and trees and she indeed saved a lot of money by using the seedlings as their wedding favor. I personally think seedlings or flower seeds are relevant favors for those who are planning to have a garden wedding.

I believe that you can still impress your guests with inexpensive wedding favors. There are plenty of good and inexpensive ideas. All it takes is to squeeze your creative juices and you can find one hundred and one ways on how to thank your wedding guests. Do you have time to make a wedding favor?
