The first time I heard of a wedding vow that included a promise to the children, I was impressed and touched. For couples in a second marriage, or who have been together for quite some time, they can also include their children in their vows. We have some regular vows for brides and some special vows that include children. Read on…
There are actually many beautiful wedding vows for women, wedding vows for children, and family wedding vows that can all be heart-warming to listen to. Below are some examples that might help you make your own. I believe that you should make your own wedding vow to express the feeling you have and the promise you make to your husband and your children as well.
Here are some examples of popular wedding vows and modern wedding vows that may give you an idea to draft your own.
“It is the greatest desire of my heart to be faithful to you and to love you always, seeking to meet your every need, desiring to help in every way, listening to you, encouraging you, comforting you and standing by your side in whatever circumstances may face us in the years ahead. I will respect you, honor you and strive for harmony in our marriage with a quiet and gentle spirit.”
I Give Myself to You
“I love you. You are my best friend.
Today I give myself to you in marriage.
I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you,
and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle.
I promise to love you in good times and in bad,
when life seems easy and when it seems hard,
when our love is simple, and when it is an effort.
I promise to cherish you, and to always hold you in highest regard
These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life.”

“Making your own wedding vow is a chance to express your true feelings to the one you love.”
What about your wedding ring, what finger do you wear a wedding ring on?
If you are including the children in your wedding vows:
“I promise to be a good and faithful wife to you, and also a patient, loving mother to (children’s names), caring for them and providing for them as my own. I promise to be their strength and their emotional support, loving them with all my heart forever.”
Pledge My Heart
“I, (name), take you, (name of spouse), to be my loving spouse. For better or worse, I pledge to you my heart and my life. As you have been a loving father to (children’s names), now let us come together as a family – mother, father, children, together from this day on. I promise to love, guide, and respect (children’s names) and (spouse’s name) as long as we all shall live.”
Of course, making your own vows is a good thing. Whether you choose the most romantic wedding vows, the most touching love wedding vows or go for some simple cute wedding vows, if it does not reflect what you want to say to your spouse, then it might not be as effective and heartfelt as what you really mean. Personal wedding vows are still the best.
We have vows for men, too. Check out men’s wedding vows for some ideas and examples.
You can also find ideas from the Bible and in fact, there are a number of wedding vows from the Bible that you can also use. The bottom line is, you have to have a vow that is sincere and from the bottom of your heart as well.
